As Abigail thinks about the coming year in her journal entries, we experience a sharp contrast between deliberate behavior, perseverance, and complex emotional dissolution. Spring arrives and Abigail meets Tallie, an honest and emotionally beautiful newcomer who rents a farm next to her husband Finney. The two build insecure relationships and fill in the gaps in their lives that no one else knows about.
